A Simple Self-Care Routine for Everyday Wellbeing
Self-care is more than a healthy body and a healthy diet. Our emotional wellbeing is the foundation for a healthy life.

Everyday stress can add to our daily load, but it doesn’t have to take over. We’re not medical professionals at Moon Mother Hemp, but we care about you and your wellbeing, so here’s how we build a simple self-care routine to support our mental and emotional health.
Why a routine? Routines give our days a steady rhythm, and a sense of rhythm and control can help us feel more grounded. Research also suggests that small lifestyle changes, like moving more and eating well, can make a real difference in how we feel.
1. Embrace the Big Six
- Eat real food. Think protein and leafy greens.
- Drink water.
- Sleep. Seven to nine hours is ideal.
- Move your body. Aim for 30 minutes a day.
- Get outside. Spend some time outdoors every day.
- Connect. Spend time with another human being.
2. Keep it clean
Do you ever come home and find you can’t decide what to make for dinner? Is your home feeling cluttered? Those are signs of “decision fatigue,” and when you’re already feeling low, every decision can feel heavier. The answer: spend 10 minutes a day tidying one thing that’s been sapping your energy. Even moving your shoes from the front hall to a closet can give you a welcome sense of control.
3. Plan your day the night before
When the to-do list feels endless, it helps to make a short list the night before, in order of what you want to accomplish, big or small, and focus on one thing at a time. Each item you check off is an affirmation and a small act of self-love. The idea isn’t to finish everything every day, but to remind yourself of what you’ve chosen to do for you, one step at a time.
4. Make it a ritual
Whether it’s a vitamin, a supplement or your daily CBD, the simple ritual of taking a moment for yourself each day is the next best thing to giving yourself a hug. Put yourself first, and the rest of the day can fall into place.
