CBD (cannabidiol) is one compound of the hemp plant that is touted for its health benefits. When you’re considering a CBD product, there’s more to it than those 3 simple letters.
There are different types of CBD that companies use to create their products. Learn about the three types below.
Full Spectrum CBD
“Full Spectrum” CBD contains more than just the CBD component. Full-spectrum hemp extract contains compounds naturally occurring in the whole plant such as terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids (like THC or CBG).
The amount of THC in our products remains under 0.3%, the legal federal limit, and plays a role in the efficacy of the product.
When the plant compounds interact with each other and the body, they work in synergy and produce a greater, more balanced impact than the individual compounds alone. This is named the “entourage effect”.
If you’re shopping our site, you’ll notice Moon Mother products are formulated with the full-spectrum hemp extract.
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad Spectrum CBD is also an option, similar to full spectrum but the THC has been specifically removed. This is an in-between option for those who are interested in the full plant benefits but avoiding THC.
CBD Isolate
CBD Isolate is just as it sounds, the isolated CBD compound, meaning it’s purified of other cannabinoids, terpenes and oils. This is the purest form of CBD. It’s still effective for wellness despite being removed from the other plant parts.
Choosing between the types of CBD is preference and will rely on your unique biochemistry and your desired results.
